Dropout Of Students due to Insecurity

Education is a right for every one ,but there are some reasons that do not allow children to complete their education. Dropout of students from school is a social phenomena that happen in different places. But  conflicts is one of the causes that increase the number of students dropout from school. It affects both boys and girls.

In emergency environment, children are faced with high risk of injury or death, destroy school buildings, threats teachers and students, lack of materials, fear, responsibility at home, food insecurity. Can make students to loose hope and interest in education.

In this situation students feel boring and  loss hope about the future they can think about other things. for example,  boys join army and girls get married at early age.

Ladies, what do you think can be done to stop the rate of dropout children from school during crisis?

  1. I think you really presented what our children in South Sudan are facing during the on going conflict in our country. Most young people dropped out of school because of the conflict and many other challenges related to the conflict. I think it will be of importance to restore hope for such children by giving them sensitization about the importance of school so that they will once again develop a positive thinking and go back to school.

  2. I agree with you that conflict has impact on students drop out, but I think it is our responsibility both the society and the government to find the root causes of the conflict
and live in a peaceful environment that gives good education chances for our children.

  3. This is a great conversation. How can we begin to identify the causes and supporting students? There are so many things at work where might we start?
